Surnames: Cavalier
I believe we have a common ancestor. My gggg grandparents were Peter (I think It’s been so long, I’d have to look it up in my files) and Margaret Cavalier, and my ggg grandparents were Paul LaPoint and Margaret Cavalier. They lived in Prescott, Ontario across from Ogdensburg, NY. They had a daughter, Mary Mathilde who married James McConkey at the age of 14 in Ogdensburg in 1849. She was French Catholic and he was Irish Protestant. (Their marriage in Canada at that time would have been illegal, so he brought her here. They married on December 15 of that year in Bacon’s general store in Ogdensburg. Anyway, Theophilus parents were Scholastique Bartrand and Benjamin Cavalier, who I believe to be a brother of my
ggg grandmother, Margaret and son of my gggg grandparents, Peter and Margaret. So if any of these nares correspond with any of yours, please contact me. Marilyn Craig mcraig5060@adelphia.net
